MEET DIEGO
I am a father, husband, social worker and teacher who has worked and volunteered in traditional public schools and charter schools across Providence, Pawtucket and Central Falls for over 10 years. I have lived in Providence since going to college here in 2012. I grew up in Washington DC with mom from El Salvador and Romania and my dad who grew up in New York City and Minnesota. Now I live with my family on Adelaide Avenue: Jen, Dexter, Luca y Crumpet la gata.
Today I work at a local community shelter for English and Spanish speaking adults surviving the terrible violence of homelessness, addiction and childhood trauma. Everyday I walk with clients to access safe housing, good employment and affordable healthcare so we can all live with more dignity. I will always put my clients and constituents first and I can prove it. I am committed to the most transparent possible financial campaign reports: public Up-To-Date campaign budget, candidate tax returns and financial investments.
Now more than ever, we need our local government to work better: better public schools, more housing opportunities, cheaper electricity, and better public health and emergency services.
